    Cortina di ferro su Panama ?

    Salve a tutti,
    qui in UK sta tirando una pessima aria su Panama,
    con il fatto che il paese non è FACTA compliant le banche prima hanno bannato le società Panamensi che avevano un conto in UK e dipendenze nel canale e ora stanno intervenendo anche sugli accounts di società inglesi con corporate shareholders a Panama.

    Personalmente poi il FACTA non è nemmeno a livello di paese ma di banca. Ad esempio in Russia ci sono banche FACTA compliant e non. Non capisco perché rompano il c..... ad un intero paese.

    Come è la situazione in giro fuori UK ? Tira la stessa aria ?

    Tutte le Banche a Panama sono FATCA.
    Le societá di Panama sono messe sicuramente meglio delle IBC, il registro é infatti pubblico.Non vedo nulla di nuovo da ciò che scrivi.

      É questione interna alla UK semmai o di particolari Banche UK.Il FATCA non centra . Dopotutto Panama é totalmente FATCA compliant.

        The Panamanian banking system is very concerned for the full entry into force on 1 January 2013 of FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act), of the United States which requires signing complicated agreements no later than 30 June 2013 in order for banks not to be fined by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS).The act introduces a withholding tax system that affects all private entities that have contacts with the United States. According to the act, the U.S. IRS will retain 30% of the value of transactions that banks in Panama and other countries make with correspondents in the United States.

        The Banking Association of Panama said that Panamanian authorities are consulting with the IRS to reach an agreement similar to what Spain, Italy, Germany, UK, Japan, and Switzerland are negotiating.

        The U.S. government wants by this act to win the war on tax evasion estimated at USD 450,000 million annually. FACTA requires banks and financial institutions located outside the United States, to report the Americans with offshore bank accounts to IRS automatically.

        The Banking Association of Panama, said that it will be up to the banks and financial institutions to adapt their organization to implement FACTA and that it will not be the government to establish how. Financial institutions may also decide not to accept U.S. clients but this will affect the relationship of those entities with such clients.

        However, there are steps U.S. clients can take. Firstly, they will have to put all their assets in offshore anonymous companies which will then manage those assets. Secondly, the same clients may acquire a second citizenship that entitles them to a second passport with which they can open new offshore bank accounts.

              Panama

              In June 2014, Panama made a high-level political commitment to work with the FATF and GAFILAT to address its strategic AML/CFT deficiencies. Since February 2015, Panama has taken significant steps towards improving its AML/CFT regime, including by enacting: amendments to the criminal code, a new AML/CFT law, and legislation enhancing the framework for international cooperation. However, the FATF has determined that strategic AML/CFT deficiencies remain. Panama should continue to work on implementing its action plan, including by: (1) implementing an adequate legal framework for freezing terrorist assets; (2) implementing effective measures for customer due diligence in order to enhance transparency; and (3) ensuring a fully operational and effectively functioning financial intelligence unit. The FATF encourages Panama to address its remaining deficiencies, including by issuing adequate regulations for the various sectors to further implement the provisions of the new laws and continue the process of implementing its action plan.
